Tutor Guide — Finding your way around Studuet

First steps

Getting started, in order

If you've just been verified, do these four things first — they're what students see before they book you.

Complete your Teaching Profile

Add your subjects, exam boards, bio and rate under Settings → Teaching Profile. This is what students see on your card.

Set your availability

Open Schedule → Availability and block out the times you're free to teach — students can only book slots you've opened.

Get verified

Upload your ID and qualifications under Settings → Verification. You can't accept bookings until this is approved.

Turn on notifications

So you don't miss a booking request — check Settings to confirm email/push alerts are on.

Layout

Your sidebar, explained

Everything in Studuet is reachable from the sidebar on the left. Here's what each section is for.

Today

Your home screen — today's sessions, pending requests, and quick links to your profile, analytics and payouts.

Schedule

See all upcoming and past bookings, and manage your weekly availability — this controls what students can book.

Students

Everyone you've taught — their CLP summary, session history, and notes you've left for yourself.

Requests

New booking requests waiting on you — accept or decline. This is also where cancellations and reschedules show up.

Earnings

Your balance, payout history, session-by-session breakdown, and OLC (outcome-linked) bonuses if you're enrolled.

Settings

Teaching profile, verification documents, hourly & group rates, password, and payout details.

Help

Submit a support ticket and track its status — for anything this guide doesn't answer.

Sessions

Running a session

When it's time to teach:

1. Go to Schedule and click Join once the session is within 15 minutes of starting.
2. In the session room you can share your screen, spotlight it for the student, use background blur on your camera, and share files/images in chat.
3. For group sessions, all students appear in a multi-tile grid — the same tools work for the whole group.
4. The session timer starts automatically and keeps running even if someone's connection drops and reconnects.
5. Before booking, check a student's CLP on their profile under Students — it tells you how they learn best, so you can tailor your approach.

Tip: Respond to booking Requests promptly — slow responses hurt your visibility in student search results.

Earnings

Getting paid

Everything about money lives under Earnings:

Standard rate

Set in Settings — your per-session earnings are your hourly rate minus platform commission, released after the session completes.

OLC bonus

Outcome-Linked Commission — extra pay when a student's score improves. See the Platform Guide for how it's calculated.

Group rate

Set a separate per-student rate for group sessions in Settings — usually lower per-student but higher in total.

Payouts

Your balance is paid out on the platform's payout schedule — check payout method and history under Earnings.

FAQ

Common questions

Why can't I accept bookings yet?▾

You need to be verified first. Go to Settings → Verification and upload the required ID and qualification documents. You'll get an email once approved.

A student booked a time I didn't mean to open up — what do I do?▾

Go to Requests and decline it, or reach out via Help if it's already confirmed and you need to reschedule. Keep your Schedule → Availability up to date to avoid this.

Where do I see a student's Cognitive Learning Profile (CLP)?▾

Open Students, click on the student, and their CLP summary is shown on their profile — use it to adjust pacing, visuals, and explanation style during sessions.

How is my payout calculated?▾

Your Earnings page breaks down every session: your rate, platform commission, and any OLC bonus. Payouts follow the schedule shown there.
